The Senior Project Manager provides project-related management for small to mid-scale construction projects across various markets within an assigned Region or Division and is responsible for utilizing H&M's Project Management Methodology to manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle, while being accountable for all aspects of each project's success.

 

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Manager reports to the Operations Manager and works collaboratively with Safety, Project Management, Business Development, and Fleet teams to ensure quality standards are integrated throughout all phases of project planning and execution.

 

This role is responsible for driving quality performance across multiple lines of business while partnering closely with field operations and regional leadership.

 

Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, dynamic organization. The Quality Control Manager works directly with regional program teams, proposal teams, and project teams to influence outcomes and support continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and communicate QA/QC activities tailored to regional projects and client requirements.

  • Provide guidance, training, and oversight related to company quality procedures, standards, and templates.

  • Lead and perform process reviews, Project Quality Plan audits, and jobsite quality observations; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.

  • Promote and implement effective work practices that balance safety, quality, productivity, and compliance.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in quality systems and process improvement tools, supporting construction teams and operational functions.

  • Lead sustainable jobsite and process improvements using methodologies such as:

    • Process mapping

    • Root cause analysis and structured problem solving

    • Standard work development

    • 5S workplace organization

    • Visual management and controls

    • Team-based brainstorming and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Partner with project teams during planning and execution phases to proactively identify quality risks and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in High Voltage Power, Pipeline, Underground Civil and/or Gas utility construction.
  • Cement and concrete experience, ACI field grade 1 certification; preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working in union construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, inspection processes, and compliance auditing.
  • Experience leading audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Professional certifications in Quality Management, Auditing, and/or Project Management preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, training, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to travel moderately within the region.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in active construction environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, noise, and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to walk jobsites for extended periods and climb stairs, ladders, or structures as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear.

 

Salary Range: $105,000/yr to $158,000/yr (will be dependent upon level of experience)
