Responsibilities

  • The Estimator leads every level of the estimating process which includes reviewing of project and design related documents, attending pre-bid meetings, traveling to job locations to confirm project site conditions, and evaluate contract specifications and scope definition on bid opportunities. This position works with operations, project management, scheduling, and proposal staff to coordinate and manage pricing for multiple concurrent pricing efforts. This position also assists field personnel in developing and/or recommending change orders to scope as needed.
  • This role will be intimately involved in the collection and analysis of project performance data which is used in the continuous improvement efforts to our estimating approach. This role is also responsible in compiling and presenting project and pricing data to company stakeholders at various levels for approval to finalize pricing submittals.
  • The Estimator provides leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology and/or selection of tools, approaches, and process enhancements using fundamentals of Intren West Project Management practices. Additionally, this role contributes related process improvements and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading the estimating activity for mid to large scale projects
  • Advanced knowledge of construction and utility industry practices
  • Proficient in reading and performing take-offs of engineered drawings
  • Experienced with relevant estimating software (B2W Preferred) and MS Office Suite
  • Highly complex problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and able to adapt to complex schedules and changes
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Must be highly adaptable to new processes and procedures

 

 

Minimum Educational Background:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Relevant Experience

 

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:

4 to 10+ years of experience submitting bids, proposals for electrical distribution project scope; preferably for PG&E 

 

Salary Range: $100,000/yr to $158,000/yr
